Rob Wealth(劫財)
Rob Wealth (Geopjae, 劫財) is the Ten God assigned to heavenly stems and earthly branches that share your Day Master's element but have the opposite yin or yang polarity. Its name literally means taking wealth.
In plain English, it means “someone who shares your portion”. Its pillar positions are read as showing where people with strength like yours but a different orientation appear — rivals, business partners, or half-siblings.
How it is set

Traits
The table shows Rob Wealth as your Day Master's counterpart — Eul (乙) for Gap (甲), Gap for Eul, Jeong (丁) for Byeong (丙), and Byeong for Jeong: the same element with the opposite polarity. For earthly branches, the assignment follows the main hidden stem. For a Gap Day Master, Myo (卯) is Rob Wealth because its main hidden stem is Eul Wood. For an Im Water (壬) Day Master, Ja (子) is Rob Wealth because its main hidden stem is Gye Water (癸). The note below the table means the main hidden stem's polarity determines the assignment, not the branch's own polarity.
In the four relationship categories, the Peer group receives the “Support” color because it shares your strength and helps you stand firm. Rob Wealth is the opposite-polarity side of that group, so saju tradition reads it as cooperation and competition combined — dependable on your side, but contentious when dividing shares. The character 劫 in its name comes from the Five Elements relationship in which Peer controls Wealth.
Rob Wealth in the year pillar is read through siblings or shared family resources. In the month pillar, it points to competitors and business partners in society. In the day branch, it places a force like yours but differently oriented in the partner seat. In the hour pillar, it relates to resources shared with children and in later life. In every position, whether Wealth sits beside Rob Wealth changes the reading.
Two or more Rob Wealth signs are read as more people sharing your portion. If Wealth is weak, tradition also applies the pattern of many peers competing for limited wealth. If Wealth is strong but your Day Master is weak, Rob Wealth is instead read as adding the strength to manage those resources. No Rob Wealth is read as holding your portion alone, but also having to stand alone.
In Seowoon's free Ten Gods reading, “Ten Gods Structure” shows the strength of your Peer group and the pillars containing Rob Wealth. On the Benefactor Map, people in the Peer group appear as “Life Benefactors”, with Rob Wealth shown off-center in that position.
A common misconception
Claims such as “Rob Wealth = a chart that loses money” or “With Rob Wealth, business partnerships will fail” are widespread. But Rob Wealth names someone who shares your portion, not a loss. The rule about taking wealth describes a birth chart with weak Wealth and strong Peer. Outside that pattern, Rob Wealth can represent strength on your side.Seowoon only calculates how many Rob Wealth signs you have and where they appear. Whether you gain or lose is beyond that calculation.

Frequently asked questions
What does it mean to have many Rob Wealth signs?
Saju tradition reads this as more people sharing your portion and dividing Wealth, but also greater staying power, pushing the Day Master toward the strong side. If Wealth is also strong, it can be read as the strength to expand an undertaking. The count is calculated. Gains and losses are not.
What careers are associated with Rob Wealth?
It is commonly associated with work built around competition — sales, sports, investing, or businesses run through partnerships. When Wealth provides support, this sharing force is read as helping an undertaking grow. Career readings consider its structure with Wealth and Output, not Rob Wealth alone.
Does Rob Wealth differ in men's and women's charts?
The assignment rules are the same. Traditional saju reads Wealth as a man's spouse indicator and Officer as a woman's, so Rob Wealth represents siblings or competitors rather than a spouse in either case. Because Rob Wealth controls Wealth, some schools read it in a man's chart as a force that unsettles the spouse indicator. That, too, is a structural interpretation, not a prediction of how a marriage will turn out.
