Heaven Star(天殺)
The Heaven Star (Cheon-sal, 天殺) is the third of the twelve symbolic stars. Depending on the Three Harmony group your year branch belongs to, it appears when your chart contains Mi (未) · Sul (戌) · Chuk (丑) · Jin (辰).
It has traditionally meant events sent from heaven—things beyond human control—but is also read as spiritual depth, religion · scholarship, and connections with senior figures.

What Heaven Star means
Traditional readings treated the Heaven Star as a warning about natural disasters or unexpected events. From another angle, it is interpreted as spirituality that seeks to understand heaven's will, prayer and self-cultivation, or a role serving someone in a high position.
One table is all you need to find it. Each Three Harmony group of year branches has a designated Heaven Star branch — Sin-Ja-Jin (申子辰) points to Mi (未), Hae-Myo-Mi (亥卯未) to Sul (戌), In-O-Sul (寅午戌) to Chuk (丑), and Sa-Yu-Chuk (巳酉丑) to Jin (辰). If that branch appears anywhere in your four pillars, the Heaven Star is present. Seowoon's symbolic star reading uses the day branch as its reference, while this table shows the traditional year-branch arrangement — the same table works with either reference.
Key traits
This is read as deep thought, a respect for spiritual values, and regard for senior figures. Calm acceptance of life's larger currents is another commonly noted trait.
When it shows up positively
It is read as finding depth in religion · philosophy · scholarship, and gaining a position through the trust of senior figures.
What to watch for
Traditional readings advise caution about dwelling on things beyond your control or relying entirely on luck. A common suggestion is to prepare in advance for what you can.
Careers and Natural Aptitudes
It is considered a good fit for religion · philosophy · meditation, research · scholarship, supporting senior figures (executive assistants · advisers), and public service.
Love and relationships
It is read as a tendency to treat a partner with respect and courtesy. Common advice is to ease up on expectations and allow things to unfold, helping the relationship feel more relaxed.
Health
An older interpretation connects the Heaven Star with mental energy and recommends habits that give your mind a rest.
Health readings based on symbolic stars are traditional interpretations, not diagnoses. Have any symptoms evaluated through medical care.
A common misconception
People often say, “The Heaven Star brings great disaster”, but it is simply one of twelve names assigned in a repeating cycle. Read it as a reminder that some things are beyond your control; life's ups and downs are assessed through the whole chart and its timing cycles.

Does having the Heaven Star mean I should follow a religion?
No. It is only a general association with spiritual depth. Your beliefs are your own choice.
Are the Heaven Star and Canopy Star the same?
No. Both appear on Jin·Sul·Chuk·Mi, but their positions differ by Three Harmony group, so they do not fall on the same branch for the same person.
